Gamers Unite to Save Lives in Ukraine

In a groundbreaking initiative, Havas Play and UNITED24, the official fundraising platform of Ukraine, launch #TheDonationMap, a powerful campaign bringing Fortnite gamers from around the world together to finance the reconstruction of a Ukrainian hospital and heal thousands of victims.

WHY THIS PROJECT?

Since its creation, Fortnite has generated billions of dollars with the sale of skins but also thanks to independent creators who dedicate their careers to develop maps and entertain gamers. At the same time, many young people aspire to contribute to good causes but may not always know how to help. It was finally time to hack this map designing feature for Ukraine, which will allow players to decide where their money will be spent.#TheDonationMap initiative allows each player to transform their virtual presence into tangible impact by collecting funds through a specially designed Fortnite map, featuring a meticulous representation of Kyiv’s Independence Square.The funds collected through player connections will be used to rebuild Prybuzka ambulatory clinic in Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine. Thus, the initiative by Havas Play and UNITED24 aimed to address urgent medical needs arising from the ongoing full-scale war. After two years of full-scale war, we are increasingly turning to creative ideas and unconventional communications to remind the world that Ukraine needs support. We believe that integration into one of the most popular games in the world will help us draw attention to Ukraine and rebuild a medical ambulatory clinic in Mykolaiv Oblast. Russia has damaged more than 1500 hospitals and destroyed 195 of them. With the rebuilt clinic, people will be able to return to the village, which means that life itself will return to it. You must admit, it’s a good motivation to leave your avatar to spend the night in Fortnite. Although they can’t interact with other players, the sense of unity will come from sharing the map and the collective participation of everyone involved in this project.

Generate funds by earning xp through various quests or by staying connected.
The amount earned depends on the map’s popularity and how long players stay on it. The more players visit the map, the more funds will be collected for the reconstruction of the hospital. Every second counts, no minimum duration.

UNITED24 was launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the main platform for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine. $620 611 054 has been raised through donations from over 110 countries since the start of the platform in May, 2022.
